  • Think I could make 119 pounds........

    I've always been between 125-132 for my fights. I never focused on my weight at all, I just said whatever I weigh in on I will fight at. And by doing so, like I said, I've always been between 125-132.

    My gym closed a little while ago until August 1st because it is moving to another part of the city. I've just been focusing on keeping my weight down because I went up to about 140 without training for 2 weeks. So I started getting into the whole weight thing and coming up with good ways to lose weight and keep track of everything. I've been doing a lot of running, and not eating late at night. Eating really healthy. This morning when I got back from a run, after sweating a lot, I weighed 123.5. I think if I keep up the habits I've been doing know when I get back to the gym I could make 119 pounds (119 is an amateur weight class).

    Do you guys think this is too low? When I'm not training at all, eating anything I want, and doing anything I want, I get to about 140 pounds. I think 125-132 is good for me but man I think I could make 119.

    if you kept up the training and get yourself solid then you can probaly make 119...how tall are you?

      That's what I'm saying, all I've been doing is running in the mornings and some shadow boxing and light workouts at night, nothing compared to the workouts I do at night when I'm in the gym. I've just completely altered my ways of eating and eating schedule. If I keep that up and go to the gym I really think I could make 119 comfortably.

      I'm about 5'7 or 5'8. I'm not that tall and skinny tho like some might imagine. I have a solid upper body but my legs are skinny.

        Im a 119 fighter. When not training im around 126-130, im 5'7. At 5'8 you would have good range on the 119rs. I would say for fights on club shows and stuff make a more reasonable weight, like have both men weigh around 123. For tournaments 119 is where to go, especially with morning weigh-ins its pretty easy. That is what I do.
