How to win an exchange of 1-2s in midrange?

How to win an exchange of 1-2s in midrange?

Cause this happened to me a while ago. My sparring partner threw a 1-2 at me and I also threw a 1-2 back at him

and then suddenly we were throwing 1-2s nonstop at each other! But the problem was I dont know what im doing its like im just throwing haymaker kind of 1-2s while looking down!

IS what im doing right? How do I win in those kinds of exchanges if I have a little shorter reach?

Don't get in exchanges like that. Hands up, pop back out of range and then drop and throw a straight right to the stomach when he follows you. That's what I would do, but i don't get in exchanges where we're just standing there trading punches.

There is no way to win an exchange of 1-2s. Exchanges like that turn into who lasts the longest. If you last longer you win. Just dont get into those in the first place. Exchanges like that are ****** and just hurt you and makes your face ugly.

Keep slighlty moving away so you have that extra edge and are hitting him while he misses you. If your a shorter fighter though thats where you should be at.

Keep your hands up and let them work your block while moving to the side and throw short crosses out of the shell.

I don't get involved in exchanges like that, ye gotta be smarter, catch him on the way in and move. In that area though you really cant put your head down, always be watching what your doing, sometimes a double or triple jab can get him to cover up or look away then you dominate.
If you start looking at the floor you'll get murdered if he's half decent, he can see exactly what your doing and where your shots are coming from and you can't see anything

Or do as BB says here, concentrate on getting your block right and land at every opening keeping the range right, remember that the most important part of boxing is not getting hit

I recommend hitting him more than he hits you. And then move...............Rockin'

Put these earmuffs on and move your upper body a little, his first reaction will be to go to the boy and there is your chance. Never go into exchanges that you cant control
