  • Just starting out and need help

    i wanna box but don't know what to do with my weight.Im 20 and 5'10 181 and wanna get down to at least 160-170 how can i do that and where can i get some cheap but good equipment and boxing videos?

      lol, I was just like you. Im around 5'10. (football physical said I was 5'11", the marines said I was 5'9") and I used to weigh 181 when I was playing football, lol. Weird that we would be that similar, huh? Im only 19 though.

      Just do cardio, a **** load of cardio. Running, jogging, walking, sprinting, agility ladders, plyometrics. Then change your diet, which is the hardest thing to do. That's how you go down in weight. I dropped from 181 majority muscle because I played defense, to 150 majority muscle. Just from doin that. When you get where you want to be, go back to strength training because you will lose alot of strength from the cardio.

      you can get boxing equipment and such from there or your local boxing/mma/kickboxing gym.

        start working on a fishing boat right. then your balance will become incredible. then, kick a tree and keep trying to catch ten leaves with one hand. once that is accomplished, join the local gym. your power by now should be incredible, and you should break the heavy bag when you land a cross on it. when the gym's best prospect asks you to spar, get in the ring. If you get knocked down, keep getting up. NO MATTER WHAT. then, the coach will clearly know you are headed for a world title

          thanx you guys cause im playing football i dont use as much mcdonalds i really done eat much but still not lostin weight

            I'm 140 pounds and 5,8.

            Alot of difference in weight considering the small amount of height between us.

              Most people vastly overestimate the benefit of moving down in weightclasses. Just work on becoming good.
