Just take it easy. I sparred and worked out with Jean Pascal for his recent world title fight and I didn't see him hit the heavy bag hard not once.

I think the old school way of thinking you have to pound on the heavy bag is past us. Your wrists, hands, and face are very fragile and if you see guys that have been boxing for a long time you will see you have to take care of those more and more.

Like I said, I had a short boxing career in the amateurs and trained ever since I was a kid and my hands kill me sometimes.

        Wrist Pain

First of all, get checked-out by your doctor and if necessary get x-rays. Learn how to wrap your hands properly and after you work out, stretch, ice your hands and if you can soak them in water with Epson salt for a good ten minutes. This will help relieve any bone bruising as well as reduce swelling.
