What's up fellas. I'm just getting into boxing and trying to manage my diet more effectively. I hear people saying that spreading your meals out will aid in increasing your metabolism. When I try it I get the feeling that I'm really just snacking more rather than just eating meals streached through the day. My question is, what should a meal consist of in this type of diet plan? Any examples? Thanks for any help.

Spreading meals vs. snacking

you gotta take a look at how many kcals for a day you need to split up into 5-6 meals to effectively keep your kcal count low by the end of the day. Splitting up your meals scientifically doesnt increase your metabolism. All it does is allow you to eat enough food to get you to the next meal about 3-4 hours later without being hungry. When you eat 3 big meals the time in between you begin to some what fast because you wait until your hungry. By eating small portioned meals every 3-4 hours you prevent yourself from ever getting hungry. When i switched over to this kind of diet i was eating less food but i felt bloated because i was so used to eating 2-3 big meals a day instead of eating when im not even hungry. Each meal should consist of about a serving of meat about 3-4oz steak/salmon filet/chicken breast/turkey breast, 1-2 cups of veggies and maybe something whole wheat like a biscuit/slice. theres always little stuff you can add here and there to make it more macro nutrient but you have to do some searching for recipes and such.
