  • Peek-a-boo

Alright, so yesterday I was messing around and used it during a spar. Normally I fight southpaw and use my speed and timing. However, I just wanted to switch it up and do something different. So I was in-fighting.

Let me tell you, perfect style for in-fighting. Specially since I know how to cut of the ring and have good footwork because of my normal style. So, I was pretty much stalking my gym mate. I had the guard up and nothing was going through. That peek-a-boo stlye is perfect for infighting. All you do is get small and compact, turn square and **** at the body.

It was funny because he tried the jab and stay out of the pocket. You know how trainers tell you to use the jab to get your range. Nah, didn't work. I was walking through them and got to the inside. Using that dempsey roll type of weaving and then **** to the body. It was funny because my gym mate even tried to push my guard down. Like keep me at arms length but when he tried to move from the corner or ropes, I was right there.

It was hilarious, I couldn't help but smile behind my guard. I dont know if he was feeling my body punches or not but the look on his face from all the pressure I was putting on him was hilarious.

Just wanted to talk about my experience when using the peek-a-boo and deciding to in-fight. Which is something I dont do. Imagine Whitaker fighting like Tyson... weird huh? lol

tyson wasnt an in fighter... anyways good stuff though. add it to your tool box. if the guy is faster then you then you know that you can always switch it up and push forward with an in fighting style to keep him out of his comfort zone.

i dont like peek a boo, it uses up too much energy

if im in with a taller faster guy i stalk cautiously, probing with my left, parry his jab and countering, looking to drive home the right

it true it uses alot of energy.

if you going to use the peek-a-boo you need to condition yourself really really hard and you also have to have power.

it a good style but also you need to have power, stamina, speed and timing.

No offence but the way you typed gives the impression that you read some Hijame no Ippo chapters and posted a story here.

To me it just doesn't sound real. With the Peek-a-boo style it's dependant on your body size anyway, I think you generally have to be a stocky individual for it to work you also need to have strong leg and stomach muscles.

I played american Football(dont play anymore. It would be college ball if I did). Cornerback, Reciever, and some safety. Im decent size to use it. Although I perfer to stay back and counter. Since last football season I have stripped alot of the muscle that I packed on for football. So i am much smaller than I used to be.

I wouldn't use it for real anyways. Hence the I WAS MESSING AROUND part. It wasn't a serious spar. It was just sparring and I wanted to have fun.

Im getting tired of these 1 post fag alts, making their 3 post as a diss towards people.

What the fuck do you want me to call weaving from side to side then? ****** bitch.
I just used the name because we all know what the fuck it means, and I dont have to write 2000 words to describe one movement. Just like how I perfer EA's "philly shell" instead of "Shoulder roll" why? Because it sounds better and I am a philadelphia eagles fan.

Anyways. It was a cool experience. It's just the same as when people "IMITATE" another fighter. Motherfuckers that dont use the shoulder roll ever in their life, but imitated it for De La Hoya.

Did I say I was doing Incapacitating body blows. No. I rely on counters, which dont require power at all. Hence "I DID NOT KNOW IF I WAS EFFECTING HIM OR NOT". Damn, a dude gotta be all serious and **** just to talk about an experience in training.

The point wasn't "ooh I can use the peek-a-boo." NO. The point was, I was messing around with a new style.
