  • My legs are too heavy

I want to enhance my footspeed and my footwork but my legs feel very heavy I use a lot of energy to move around I usually workout in the mornings. I weigh 65 Kilos but my legs make me slower in fact I have to be faster than other heavier fighters. My body feels very exhausted dont know what's wrong.

i have really thick tree trunk legs. am **** at road work because i cant run because my legs are so heavy, and i aint big up top, just got really big legs, but alot of trainers say big legs can mean good chin. so having big legs has it's good points and bad!

I'm sorry to say this but in my opinion the best way to increase footspeed and general movement is shadowboxing and skipping. Also you may want to research plyometrics (exercises to develop explosive strength).

In particular bodyweight squats and squat jumps, i've found these work well.

      Hope this helps.

im about the same weight as you @ 5'7-5'8. Ive got big legs because i used to do martial arts when i was younger and ive also maintained if not increase their size due to my complex conditioning routine which include lots of squats and lunges with an olympic bar. Maybe you might be shorter then me? Im not as quick as id like to be but who would be satisfied with whatever speed they have even if they are pretty quick already? Im not slow and can keep up if not surpass the skinnier shorter guys. In the even that you are shorter then me then you need to go and jump rope, run run run, do some HIIT and maybe some plyometrics.

I have the same problem sometimes... All I do is stretch(I do martial arts stretches) and the problem is gone.
