I've read that about Tyson before, but seriously 1000's of pushups a day, plus all your other training, that just doesnt sound good for you at all.
Sounds like your just setting yourself up for injuries...
....(i know you would work your endurance up to this point)
Plus, if you spread them out over the day, you wouldnt be getting your rest for your muscles for the next days workout....seems like a step backwards seeing as though rest is one of the most important parts to your training.
If anyone can totally reverse my thinking with some good information.....be my guest lol

I'd build up to the point to where you could do sets of 100 and do them at a fast pace and only take 1 minute rests between sets, trust me you'll see the results and your endurance will be tremendous. You need time to recover at least every other day or you will eventually injure yourself.

Im still pretty sure their pointless. I mean their good for your shoulders and back but so are pull ups. Their good for your serratus anterior but so are shoulder shrugs and shrugs work your neck. So their good for your intercostals but so are bridges and barbell pull overs and sit ups with your hands over your head. Their really good for your chest Especially the Sternal Head but when your box when do you need to pronate your sternum? I can see some advantages for clinching and perhaps blocking but I think they just make your chest pointlessly over sized.

Obviously it's not quite that simple, as just cardio and calisthenics aren't going to make you good. But I think they're a great first step, combined with nutrition, to becoming a successful fighter or athlete of any kind.
Not surprisingly, I've read dozens of times that mike tyson's daily routine had a heavy emphasis on roadwork and calisthenics.
Mike Tyson style takes alot of stamina so he needs.
Even normal boxers have heavy emphasis on roadwork and calistenics.
I restarted training boxing and just remeber how hard it was.
When I trained boxing I have more respect for all of the boxers even the weak ones. Those people just dont become champion overnight.
