Do you have a good jab? How do use it in your fights? Have you ever fought a good fighter that uses his jab very well?

haha, Im the straight up boxer type. Quick hands, smooth footwork, slick style, likes to stay on the outside and pop the jab. My jab is like a laser. 95% of the time I use the jab to start a combo. my jab is my main weapon.

thats similar to me but i have this bad habit of leading with the right from out of range, i don't know why i do it, but its bad. i like to go forward but i think my head movement is my best asset really.

the jab is everything in boxing. im 6'3 1/2 and fight at 152, so im a tall guy for my weight and use the jab for everything. defense, set up offense, distance aswell as a weapon of scoring in its own right. a good jab alone can win u alot of fights. "show me a tall man with a good left jab and i'll show u a man hard to beat" - George Foreman.. so very true.

I love the jab!! When i started training it was just a kinda...eh, type weapon ya know...but I started to notice how a good jab can change the course of a fight...sometimes. So I spent basically everyday throwing at least 100 jabs to better my technique...and then toss it in with my right crosses, hooks, uppercuts. It's great! Now it works for me to set up for my body shots and rights!

IMO, I have a good jab. But once, I sparred with a taller fighter with a laser for a jab. Damn, he made it very difficult for me. It was the first time I got outjabbed in sparring.

After that I practiced countering that jab with a parry-slip-counter jab for countless hours. It did pay off. He got countered at his every jab, he did not know what to do. He stopped jabbing for awhile until he adapted and did some double jabs or fake jab-left hook. Good thing it was the last round. back to the drawing board for me!!! LOL
