like someone else said, its probally better knowing only one locky shot got through rather then get cained on points. Just work on your defense and keep moving forward
and remember dont worry its only amatuers you still got a very long way to go

In boxing you have to mentally be strong. You lack that as of now.
Boxing is like life.
People make mistakes, but in the end you become wise, because you will then be aware of what to approach, and elaborate on how you want things to go down.
You got caught, big ****ing deal. It happens. This is boxing, you are going to get hit. Get a new trainer. Your trainer obviously know **** if hes complaining, but you're winning on points.
You will fail if you quit. Theres people who want to box, but can't because of money. You should be happy you are even in a gym.
I myself am struggling, and need to get to a gym. Me being in college and not being able to find a damn job is NY is even more stressful.
Mentally you need some work. This wasn't a pro fight. This is why you are sparring and you fight in the AM's. So you can discover the fighter you truly are and most likely become successful in boxing to the extent where you want to reach!

i gave up on boxing and my main coach stopped doing pads. i stopped showing up, he never worked with me. 2 years later he heavily critiqued my technique to the point of perfection and now i spar every night. you gotta work harder, show him why you want his help.
if something works, dont listen to other people. if your defense is bad, work your defense. if you dont have good defense, but can move, you're gonna get caught. tuck your goddamn chin and never stop moving your head. work so hard that no one ever beats you ever again. run until you wanna ****ing die, but then keep going. hit the bag until your arms are too tired, then keep hitting it. tonight i sparred 15 rounds. on the 13th i was sparring a guy with 30 pounds on me, and i was so tired i was getting a hacking cough in the ring. big ****in deal, i joe fraziered the mother ****er.
its all mental man, train hard and no one will ever beat you.

by the sounds of it ur coach sounds like an idiot,i had the same coach who never would listen what i had to say it was either his way or leave the gym so i left..even tho hes good for fitness i knew that his knowledge of boxing wasnt good no technique at all..you need a coach who can guide u properly..if u cant make it as a fighter just train for fun better than sitting at home drinkin and smokin which is what im doin now,i will have to look for another gym soon with a non-punchdrunk coach..but like i said don't quit and dont put too much pressure on urself ..boxing can be tuff mentaly just enjoy it and take it as it comes..and gettin a beatin in training is normal theres always someone better out there..good luck.

It may be true that his advice wasn't the greatest but you got stopped, not him. Blaming him isn't going to do any good. It sounds to me like this sports means a lot to you. Don't quit when things are at their worst. When you look back your memories are going to be of your loss, your "bad" coach, quitting, etc. Give it one more go around and if things don't work out then maybe it wasn't meant to be but if you give it your all, truly, you have nothing to be ashamed of. You can walk out knowing that you didn't quit when things got rough and that you gave it your best shot, that's part of what growing up and becoming a man is all about.
4) You have all ready clarified some things you need to work on.
1) your defense
2) your relationship w/ your coach
3) your support system (try talking w/ your family)
4) your confidence and mentality
5) your school/work/boxing balance (your going to regret a lot more than this boxing match if you skip a majority of your homework & projects. You also quit your job? Is it possible that there is more to your parents not liking boxing that you are willing to admit?)
5) If this message makes you angry that means..
1) you have an ego. (good, competitors need that. your all ready beginning your comeback)
2) there is some truth to it.

6) There's nothing you can do to change the past. Don't worry yourself about things you have no control over.
What you can control is your attitude and how hard you work towards your next fight. Don't let your fear of losing control you whether it's in boxing or any other facet of life. The more time you spend thinking of what you "lost", more time is going out the window.
7) Your only a failure if you convince yourself that you are one
The main thing I want to stress is that this is supposed to be FUN. Enjoy yourself! There are so many kids out there who wish they had an opportunity to do what you have all ready done. Make the best out of the opportunities life has presented you and just remember WHY your doing it in the first place.
The choice is yours from here on out...
I've been getting maad compliments at the stable, people are noticing me when i spar or train, good sparring sessions, there are a couple pros at my gym, i got three different coaches who believe in me, i got my boys, my girl and my peoples in my corner. The problem is my coach can't get book me a fight. Alls i gotta do is stay patient do my job and the rest will come.
I might be a little old; or at least older than most amateurs, but i got alot more years left in the tank and enough skill to turn pro one day.

**** happens, just gotta learn from it and come back stronger. If the gym you're at now doesnt work for you, then go find a new one. If you quit now you'll regret it later.
