  • I'm a failure at boxing.

I got knocked out today. I fight in the 140 lb category. I was outpointing the dude like crazy in the first round. I was moving around the ring getting alot of points I'm the taller and leaner guy the other guy was ripped and shorter. My coach started yelling at me to keep my feet apart and was yellling at me even though I'm winning. Get this he never even trains me. I wanted to do it my way but I did it his way to make it happy. While I had my feet apart I was too stationary and was focusing on making the old fart happy and I got clocked by a hit that took away my legs and knocked me down I got up. Now I lost all respect. I don't have that great of a defense either that's why I move alot. Well anyways now I'm thinking what was I thinking blowing all that money in boxing wasting all that time training and quitting my part time job and skipping homework and projects.

    Any vid?

You need to be ready to train harder and work to get revenge on that cat and prove the haters wrong. That or quit.

I dunno I think I might have to quit I'm getting no support from anybody my family hates boxing, my coach thinks I;m a bum and has never trained with me and doesn't even do pads with me. It's expensive and time consuming.

Don't ****ing quit man. You'll look back on it and regret it like ****. Take all that negativity that's surrounding you and use it to train harder. You're only a ***** if you quit.

Everyone loses. You only get stronger and better if you learn from your mistakes. Talk to your coach and tell him your goals and tell him you give you more attention and support. If that doesn't work find a new gym.

you need to find a new gym and coach, no one said you had to settle with the one you currently have. It's not about how many times you get knocked down its how many times you get back up that matters.

Many boxers that are greats get knocked down or hurt. I've been down once ever but I didn't let that affect me. I just decided to try to see what I did wrong and capitalize it. Sometimes it's good to make mistakes so you can correct them and be better at it.

**** that ****.. if boxing is what you really want to do just do it.. it takes a long time of hard work to get to the level u wanna be at.. the reason why guys are at the top is because they didnt quit.. thats what makes the difference

Getting your ass kicked on points is FAR WORSE than getting caught with one punch.

Stop being a spoilt brat. You made a mistake and got caught. It's not the end of the world just make sure it doesn't happen again. Boxing isn't about becoming the next world champ it's about learning self defence and a dicipline you can take with you into adult life.
