  • Issue with trainers

Is it essential to find a real trainer? like like nacho beristein, freddie roach types?

Because my trainer now is also an active boxer, he was an outstanding amatuer and recently turned pro. He teaches me some techniques and stuff but i have feeling he was not knowledgble enough to become my teacher because he also young we about same age.

    komusta.

for most(read-all) self defence arts or sports combat, u will be better off with a genuine teacher. keep in mind that a great teacher doesnt have to be the best fighter - he just has to be able to make you better. some of the best fighters are not gifted teachers is what i mean and u may not gain much from them.

what choices do you have? just one? or more?

and be a student of the game.

He could be full of information and have a complete understanding of the sport and just never tried which is why he never made it but you can usually tell thats not the case after about the 5th time he tells you "because thats not how its done in the ring".....you know instead of actually presenting a reason and feigning intelligence to defend any comments he makes...

teachers usually make good teachers not boxers especially not boxers that just barely make it pro and now think they have the right to mold the future of many young children...or get paid 75$ an hour to train people.

they really need to face it they are'nt good for anything more then sparring partners.

you'll never find the perfect trainer, there's always something missing or something they can improve on, they drink too much, they don't have enough time for you, something..... I dont know how its over there, but over here you definitely dont want to go gym hopping switching trainers every so often, that will put you in a bad spot. Best trainers I've seen are the ones with best ring experience. Learn what you can and then consider getting a diferent trainer if you think its worth it.

He teaches me if i only ask him and if he notice some mistake in my sparring but other than that he does not really instruct or guide me. And our punch mit drill routines is all the same since i started its starting to bore me.

alot of boxing training is boring at times.. its about training combinations until they come naturally. if he still has u throwing the same combinations u probably havent mastered them yet. and by mastered i mean to the point were the punches flow completely automatic. u dont even realize your oponent left an opening, still there he is.. on the canvas. feel me?

anyways.. best way to know is to train hard, and see what results u get. listen to what he says.
