lol if only it were that simple. There have been great fighters with highly varying styles. Tyson and Ali are both absolute legends, yet they fought completely differently.

Slowly piece together a list of greats, experiment with their training and moves and see what works for you and what you feel comfortable doing.

Some say Ray Robinson is the greatest PFP. If Rocky Marciano had imitated Ray's style he would have been less successful, not more. Different styles work for different fighters.

Of course, also feel free to come up with some stuff on your own. Few fighters are exactly the same, even when they're highly influenced by each other like ali was by robinson.

Personally, I think Jack Dempsey was the best at his peak. He moved around the ring like Muhammad Ali, but unleashed combinations like Mike Tyson. You won't find a lot of people who agree with me, though.

Jersey Joe Walcott ( great stylish mover, superb at slipping punches )
Larry Holmes ( great defense, left jab, combinations )
Roy Jones Jnr ( everything, but coaches may not like the low left hand! )
Sugar Ray Leonard (Speed, combinations, ring smarts, defense)
Thomas Hearns below middleweight ( everything, but coaches may not like the low left hand again! )
James Toney (at Middle and Super middle before facing Roy Jones)
Gene Tunney ( early master of the 20s, great jab, movement, combinations and defense )
Wilfredo Benitez (Great defense, before facing Leonard!)
Herol Graham (never became a world champ, but if you want to study southpaws who almost never get hit cleanly, this is your man!)

Also check out the pre Chavez, Meldrick Taylor for combination punching.

its not that simple. for example im a tall guy. so i watched guys like lennox lewis, thomas hearns, vernon forrest, mark breland, mike mccallum, milton mccrory etc. if a shorter guy tried to imitate that style he would get manhandled.

u need to give a description of your build and talent. what are your strenghts? timing, accuracy, handspeed, footspeed, reach, height, strenght, power etc.

u need to shape your style after your naturaly best abilitys and your build. once i have a sense of what style u would like to use i can give countless examples of fighters to follow. right now its hard, dont even know if you are a lefty or orthodox.

Thanks very much for those who answered the question.

Some people misunderstood the question at all; i said i want to Learn not to Imitate.

                But thanks anyway.
