Ive noticed that many people on here say that boxers should steer clear of weight lifting. What do u think about these elastic band type devices that can be used for strength training? Are they worth it or should I just lighten my weight load and use the free weights I have?

you probably would have found a crap load of posts if you searched weightlifting or weights or weight training on this forum which would clearly answer your question. in what way would weight lifting be bad for any athlete? even skinny bicycle riders do some form of weight lifting. majority of people who dont really know shiets about fitness, weightlifting and nutrition tend to believe that weightlifting = big, bulky, non flexible, extra useless weight. FALSE. you can achieve big and bulky and non flexible if that is your goal. i see those workout bands as either being a condition aid like for doing sprints or something like that. if you want to get every advantage physically then do your research and make a lifting routine for yourself. who ever said having all your muscles to be conditioned and can work at peak performance was a bad thing?
