  • How do I stop from blacking out? It only happen once but I don't want it to happen

    again.

I was working out and felt dizzy, came up from my basement to my dinning room, and then sat down and passed out and fell face on my weights with my left side of the back of my head hitting the 40 pound dumbbell, then my face must have slid or something because I have a gash on my forehead and a gash under my right eye. But I have a bump on my left back side of my head. I don't know I was breathing heavily and couldn't stop it then started swetting and the swet wouldn't stop and thats when I passed out out of the seat and hit the dumbbell... Because I lift weights also by the dinning table. And when my dad and brother got me back up on the seat and woke me up I didn't even know my head had cracked into a 40 pound dumbbell until they told me.

And I was still having a hard time breathing and felt like I was doing, when my brother and dad woke me up I asked them to get me to the doctors. My dad had called someone doctor he knew and they could take me but instead we waited and I started getting my strength back a little. I still feel weak and this happen like 7 hours ago I believe now. This is the scariest thing ever because I've been lifting weights for 10 years and my body has never reacted by shutting down on its own. This pain I felt before passing out felt like I had the flu a million times fold. And that same pain was still their when my dad and brother woke me up a second later after they noticed I passed out... It was bizarre and took like a full minute or two for my body to start gaining a little strength back.

If the pain was that bad, you definitely need to see a doctor and get tests done. Especially because this isn't a normal thing.

That sucks, because I guess I'm going to die since Doctors are very expensive and in America they could give two ****s if your sick and might be dying of something. You must have money to see a decent doctor. Hopefully it was a one time thing, I don't want it to happen again, that pain was so ****ing annoying. It was quick and happened really quick, but I hate the damn flu and that feeling for just even a couple of minutes were terrible.

I drink water, and I don't drink alcohol. And yes I do eat junk food like any other American. I eat sloppy joes, hotdogs, cheesesteaks. It doesn't cause any of those Americans to roll over and die. And alot of them are fat, I'm in pretty good shape.

And the people in my family do construction work and they don't eat healthy and they're not rolling over and dying either. Hell, I've done construction work and this is the first time I ever rolled over and died.

Wow I'm actually surprised at your answer. Construction workers tend to have some good common sense when it comes to nutrition because they have to, and most of that diet sounds fairly nutritious. Maybe you haven't been paying attention at family dinners. Ask your dad whether he has a soda or a bottle of water with lunch for starters. I'd bet on the soda if he's smart. If I hear one critique of my suggestion that soda is nutritious, even a backhanded critique, I'm not responding anymore, period. Adios in advance. And go **** yourself.

Well if you don't have health insurance then you are just going to have to be careful. Increase your fluid intake and try to eat a balanced diet. The next couple of times you work out, DO NOT work out alone. Make sure you have someone with you in case anything happens. It wouldn't be unlikely you were dehydrated. Pedialite is a good hydration drink. Gatorade has too much sugar and doesn't absorb as well. You can pick it up at drugstores.

When you exercise hard and dont warm down properly the blood tends to sit in muscles keeping the blood from other areas older people tend to have heart attacks after long runs because of this perhaps younger people just pass out. Try walking around for like 5 mins before you do anything else after a work out.

when my asthama gets bad i walk around in circles and concentrate on breathing from my stomach deep deep breaths till everything is closer to normal. if your not going to walk around for 5 mins atleast concentrate on breathing till it slows down before you even think of sitting.
