  • New to boxing

I just started boxing yesterday and it was great although im sore all over. I just have a few questions. How long did it take for you guys to build your stamina? because we started off with doing jump rope and did other little things then we did sprints and by the time i got to sprints i was gassed out and was coming in last everytime and had to do 100 push ups at the end. Everyone at the gym seemed nice but it's like alot of people just show up into boxing gyms and give up and they thought i would to but i kept telling my trainer to throw it at me even if i finish last or way behind i'll finish it while we did our conditioning together. My second question is on the heavy bag is it normal on the third round to have completely lost your punching power due to being completely gassed out? How can I improve on those little things outside of training in the gym. I decided to eat healthier I'm 6'1 and 178 pounds but im chubby and he wants me to lose some weight so what do you guys think is the best weight limit for me and some tips on future things would be helpful thanks

Practice makes perfect? Not in this sport. Anything can Happen.
You must keep on with it. It gets better as you keep on. As soon as you slck off it gets rough again. Get on a daily plan and Keep it. Remember there is alway a guy hungry and want to tear your head off.

I don't find myself slacking off at all I've been pushing myself and I always push myself to finish things thats the way I am. Doesn't matter if I'm the first to finish or last. One thing I know for sure is im not going to slack or give up on boxing

Im not much knowledgable really im just starting my amatuer all over again but for me i
i just sparr everyday and tell my trainer to watch and coach me as i sparr with another guy, then we do punchmits and it is really helpfull because it pinpoints proper techniques.

Foucs more on technique and body head movment and footwork... don't focus on endurance and running unless u have an upcoming fight.

You'll get better but there will always be obstacles. The point of training is to challenge yourself, if you do that you'll achieve goals automatically. Training is never going to be easy, that's just the way it goes. You sound like you did a good job your first day. If two people do the same workout, and one gets exhausted and the other doesn't, who's had the better workout? The tired one! The goals is to work yourself, not glide through your training. You probably did the best job of training at that gym.

If you aren't properly nourished and/or hydrated, however, having a good workout is going to be difficult and less productive. It's very likely this was the case for your first day. Don't try any nonsense: eat hearty foods like steaks, burgers, sugar and potatoes. Get plenty of fluids and a good nights sleep. Commit to improving, keep challenging yourself and never give up. If you eat and sleep right plus challenge your body every day, there's no guarantees but that's the best chance you can give yourself. And remember, it ain't easy!!!!!

you probaly can make 152 if you train hard enough.

run like a ****ing horse if not walk like a ****ing mule

lift weights, eat right and s hit right

There's nothing better than running, running and more running. In time you will get in better shape but it does take some time. Fighting for 4, 3 minute rounds take so much out of you, you have no idea.

Just don't take a ton of time off, because you will revert back to where you were. Jumping rope, running and circuit training will get you in shape.

Thanks for all the help this was my third day and I noticed my I have very good reach and power on my first day I couldn't really control to shift my body into my punches but now I'm starting to see real power forming and today I was in the ring learn to pick punches and I was jabbing my partner and it seemed like my jabs I was throwing was hurting him and to me I was holding back my power is it natrual to have fast and heavy jabs? Another thing is when I'm doing it my coach yells and says go on hurt him dont punch like a girl but I don't want to badly hurt someone while im still learning the basics. Did you guys do that also taking it easy and slow when you first get into the ring?
