  • Just a couple of Q's

    hey every1

i'm really new to boxing so i hope none of this sounds to dumb. but i've been think of getting into the compititive side of it all but i was talking to someone at the gym and they said that i can't really say that unless i have been sparring as he said some people simply just can handle it. i was wandering if this is a common prob cause i really wanna get into boxing but that would just be a deadend.

    cheers

also my left hand is my strongest but i feel good in southpaw and orthidox, wat should i work on becoming?

    cheers again

Gym? like boxing gym or work out gym? competitively itsnt really all about if you like sparring even its more if you just like the whole routine of things. waking up running thinking about what to eat allways exercising and exercising hard atleast amongst other things that you need to do if you plan on fighting other people.

I recommend boxing just as well as any other martial art for self defense and confidence building and more so its good for staying in shape. no matter what you end up doing in boxing as long as you learn and have fun its not a dead end.

I recommend sticking with south paw if your left handed

exactly.. u will have to train a couple of months atleast to be ready to compete, train hard. no matter who u are it wont be easy. when they say some ppl just handle it they probably mean getting hit, as to some who need time to get used to it. u wont be a great boxer all by yourself.

know how ppl say james toney was a natural? well toney got stopped in his first amateur fight.. it wont come easy, just becoming good enough to compete without getting KTFO in 30sec wont be easy. good luck.
