  • What are some weird training workouts?

I mean like weird things boxers do in training, for example....pushing cars and sledge hamering tires... What else?

    Ray Robinson jumped rope.

    Foreman hit a heavybag.

Tyson used a "slip" bag and did endless calisthenics.

FItzsimmons used a heavy ball on a string.

Fedor liked to lift heavy dumbells from the ground over his head.

Jimmy wilde worked in a mine.

Joe Calzaghe hit the double end bag like few before him.

    Harry Greb sparred.

    Almost everybody ran.

Those are specific techniques that are associated with certain famous fighters. If you're just looking for really weird stuff, Ali supposedly shadowboxed underwater, vic darchinyan does a lot of old fashioned summersaults on the ground (lol though it isn't crazy), vic also works out his neck from a headstand position, the bridge neck workout looks pretty weird, Jack Dempsey threw small rocks into a lake sometimes and also dug ditches, Rocky Marciano hit an insanely massive heavybag I believe though perhaps not by todays standards, Rocky in the movies punched frozen meat lol. Ali and Tunney were also known to run backward which was somewhat unusual.

      Rocky Balboa chased a chicken.

      And then ate it raw.

a good technique is doing 2 or 3 somersaults, then jumping up and shadowboxing while you are dizzy so you can keep compsure when you get hurt,

when i was little there was a creek behind my house down the stream about 1/4 mile lived a friend of mine and we would race each other up and down the creek you know jumping from rock to rock dodging branches and pricker bushes. that eventually evolved me trying to run as fast as i can over any unsteady surface with obsticales.

i enjoy down hill forest running find some park that has high ground and low ground go from the high ground to the low ground since its downhill you tend to run faster then your legs can move but since there are logs vines branches rocks fallen trees and large drops you have to be in control the whole time on top of that you may need to make sharp turns by grabbing trees and swinging around them so you have to have good reflexes and be thinking and planning

for River/Boulder feild running just find a river with a lot of rocks and run down/up stream. I like to hold a stick in my hand horizontally it causes my upper body to turn more with each step like a trun twist and it forces me to keep my hands at my sides instead of crossing infront of me. you can also try throwing punches wheil you run like this. Depending on direction of the jump and the distance of the jump throw diffrent punches with diffrent hands but try to keep it so everything flows.

This is hard though because you have to think to your self ok im jumping from this rock to that rock now if my body is going to turn this way and its a short jump then i can throw left jab as im jumping and it wont interfere with my landing and balance. all at the moment you make the jump and do it all again for the next jump. at full speed there is no time to think so it trains your involuntary reflexes which are like 100 times faster then your voluntary ones(maybe not 100 times faster)

I dont know if this helps with boxing or anything but my reflexes are like a ninjas and im sure its good cardio not to mention the activitys are very broken rhythmically giving it a rhythm similar to sparing
