  • Where to look when you are Fighting

Hello guys I just want to ask you where do you guys look when you have an opponent in the ring? Is it the head? Is it their gloves? Or their shoulders?

    Thanks

Depends. Sometimes I look high and go low and vice versa. Otherwise, I just look in their eye/face area.

You don't look at them. Look past them.

I look in two areas of the body. First - I pretend there's an imaginary cross in the center between the chest and chin area. If you look at the opponents hands and shoulders it can throw you off when they feint. But of course, you have to keep your opponents hands and shoulders in your peripheral vision, afterall, it's his fists that'll eventually smack you in the face!

I look into his eyes too, from time to time, 'cause if you notice, almost, if not all fighters make a certain facial expression when they're about to throw something big, and you need to clue in on that. But, if you're going against an experienced fighter, he can fake where he's looking or pretend to throw something big. Just keep in mind that the element of surprise plays a big part in any combat sports.

I look at their mid section, this entails their shoulders which gives telegraphing signs of what punches they will through.
