Looking to Upgrade all my Equipment

So I know we get a lot of these threads here, but since the new catalogs were just mailed out this month I feel like I should make a new thread as inventory has changed.

I'm looking to upgrade my equipment and wanted opinions on what I should get. My background is that I am an amateur boxer who trains 4 days a week in the gym and spars 2 times a week. The items I'm looking for are:

- Bag Gloves
- Sparring Gloves
- Headgear

I've used Title Classic gloves and Top Contender and to be honest that stuff is rubbish so I'm looking to get new stuff. I don't have bad hands or anything, comfort and durability are my main two goals with good protection as well. For the headgear, I'm thinking of just getting FightGear competition headgear because that is what I have been using in the gym and it fits well. I don't want to wear really padded headgear and then compete in a fight and have to wear low padded headgear. I want to get used to the punches.

The budget is moderate, I'm willing to spend the money on good equipment, though probably not as much as what Winning costs.

fight gear makes pretty dece headgears. for gloves i'd recommend rival. excluding winning, they're a bit on the $$ side but defo worth it. i've never used grant's pro line but i've heard of lot of good things about them.

for sparring glove get rivals
idk for bag gloves if you dont have wrist problems get Everlast. If you have wrist problems then do some research.

I use Tittle competition headgear.

Bag gloves i had the Ring Side ameture competion gloves 10 oz. but will get the Tittle next
because there is a sale now.

My sparring gloves isn't that good but i had the cash, i would upgrade to Reye's.

What size should the Rival gloves be? I want to get the Ultra Bag Gloves. I am 20 years old and weigh 125 pounds. My hands are medium sized and bony. Should I get the 10oz or the 12oz? Thanks.

I got a pair of 12oz Rival Ultra Bag Gloves, if they work out well I'm going to get a 16oz pair of Rival Sparring Gloves. Thanks for the tips thus far guys.

I don't know why people want to use bag gloves, they are bad for your hands and I never see top pro's wear them. always use boxing gloves for all training. If you got bad hands then get some 16oz gloves.

Well generally I use a pair of 16oz for everything - sparring, mitts, bag work etc. But if you notice, the padding in sparring/training gloves is softer than that in bag gloves. Regular use will break the padding up, making the glove a danger to use in sparring. Plus sometimes I would like a lighter glove so I can focus on technique w/o the bulkiness of 16oz gloves slowing me down. So I think it will be good for me to have both a pair of bag gloves and a pair of sparring gloves. I got the 12oz bag gloves as opposed to the 10oz gloves so that there will be a little more weight and a little more padding to protect the hands.
