agreed that getting ripped has nothing to do with getting faster or stronger. most power lifters arent ripped for **** including majority of the world strongest men competition guys and they are strong as ****. the only reason boxers that lift are ripped is because of the low body fat percentage. i havent heard anything about lifting weights slowing you down or messing with balance. roy jones jr lifted weights and he was one of the best of all time in his prime. mike tyson lifted weights and he was easily one of the best fighters of all time. ricky hatton is a good fighter too and he lifts weights as well but just didnt have the smarts/the trainer to use his speed and power correctly. tyson was the size of a small heavy weight and moved like a light weight and had balance like no one else. unless your eating load of cals a day + a minimum of 1g of protein per lb of body weight and pushing your self to the limit with your weight training you arent going to get big and bulky. find a good routine that works for you stick to it, do your cardio, your boxing training, and youll see nothing but benefit in speed and power. balance should not be effected unless you have none to begin with.
