  • Best Buy for gloves in terms of hand protection?

What are some good gloves, in terms of hand protection that really match up with their cost? I have 16oz Ringside safety gloves right not but their started to wear down so its time for a new pair of gloves.

Depends on how much you want to spend. I would recommend Ringside IMF tech gloves. But it you want to drop the heavy dollar go with winning, Best protection available.

Get some G&S gloves. You're not gonna get gloves like them for the same price anywhere. And, you can get the satisfaction of buying gloves from a mom and pop establishment.

TufWear Training Velcro Gloves are on sale for 39.99 right now from title boxing.
Their 16oz glove feels more like an 18 oz glove - the padding's super generous, and the leather's pretty soft unlike on their bag gloves.
TufWear's are famous for their durability, they'll last you for years.

I like IMFs too, but at half the price, TufWears are definitely worth thinking about.

As a company, Ringside probably has the best rep for having generous padding on their gloves.

I heard their gloves were actually produced in India or Pakistan these days.

Shevlin gloves are high quality for a reasonable price and I think they're actually handmade in the states. I really can't wait till I can get some custom gloves from Shevlin.

Yeah the shevlin's are dope. They make a natural pop sound even when you just lightly touch the pad. The leather is ultra soft too, but the thumb area started ripping after less than a month of use. They fixed them quickly though, so not much harm done.

I recommended the G&S for the price though. I asked the owner and he did confirm to me that they are now made overseas but I don't think that really makes much difference. They are obviously not handmade anymore, but he did say that they never made them as well as they do now. The one thing I love about them is the lining is cotton. It feels soo much better than that breathable crap that they are always advertising on gloves nowadays. That stuff just collects mildew and makes your hands smell like ****, imho. That's the kinda stink that makes no one want to sit next you on the train coming home from training.

Here some pics of my G&S along side my Casanovas

Dude, sorry I didn't recognize you from the other forum.
Gonna get some Shevlins for my birthday but can't decide what design I want, and whether or not I want to go with laces.
Probably end up getting 2 pairs.
I wonder if I get the 16oz in the 14oz profile if the sticker on the gloves will say 16 or 14....
