    Legs Tiring first

I've had some issues lately with losing the spring in my legs early. Before I'm tired, I've had the legs slowing me down. I've been running but it really hasn't helped yet.

The problem is especially evident when I'm fighting bigger guys and I need to circle or step out. Against the smaller guys that I can cut the ring off on, it hasn't been a problem.

Been doing tons of lunges and deadlifts too. Sometimes I lift weights or do lotsa calesthetics earlier in the same day on the days I train.

    Open to all advice.

    PS, maybe I'm just old!

I know some people say that this may not help or may not be good for the legs, but have you tried using ankle weights on some days of your training? So if you train 4 days a week you can do 2 days with ankle weights and 2 days without...

No i haven't. I used to get more tired in my shoulders and on defense, but now the legs are gone. For ankle weights, are you talking about wearing them the entire time? Like while jumping rope and doing exercises or just while doing rounds on the bags and shadowboxing and sparring? Or the whole day.

Also, do you think it could be from working out earlier in the day/strength training? Sometimes I do heavy deadlifts the same day or barbell supersets or speed training with weights.

I would use the ankle weights just for bag bag work, shadow boxing and maybe jogging. No sense in using them when lifting. Wouldn't really be moving. Maybe try them while doing walking lundges.
If you are doing upper body strength training it shouldn't bother you. The deadlifts however maybe effecting your legs. It's weird though, because it should be helping out your legs not making you tired. Hmmm... ?? I would do the deadlifts after your training session...

Just to elaborate- every day I weight train, I do shoulders, chest, back, legs, and sometime some arms. I don't do specific days for body parts. I train at night from about 6:30 to 9ish so I can't lift after. Maybe I should just leave out the lifting on training days.

I wish I could train 4 days a week. I have 2 fullish time jobs right now, so I get 2 days to train boxing/groundfighting and 1 day to do kali. weights 2x a week.

I am going to get some ankle weights, they can't hurt.

You can lift on training days, but I wouldn't do any lower body strength workouts on those days. Incorporate them a little at a time as your legs become more strong.
And no, the ankle weights wouldn't hurt to get at all.
You know what else may help out your legs over time?... riding a stationary bike if you have access to one. (would use it with some resistance though, if not it would defeat the purpose of getting those legs ready to dance. Definitley still a good workout)
