  • Sleeping

One of my biggest problems with training is my difficulty falling asleep. I'm not the type to go to bed too early so its very hard for me to wake up at 6 or 7 am and jog. I end up either skipping or running too close to the workout session that I don't have much time to recover.

Those of you who are serious about training, what time do you go to bed? Did you always sleep early or if not how did you manage to get into a good sleep schedule?

I don't work currently and bum around the house usually if I'm not training so I don't get too tired at night. I know if I had a job (even working at McDonalds or Walgreens) 8 hours a day I would be pretty damn tired.

btw I'm posting this at 6:50 am pacific time not because I woke up early but because I'm pulling an all nighter to fix my sleep pattern.

I've been averaging 3-5 hours of sleep a night. That's on a good night, some nights i don't even sleep.

I had the same problem dude, but training hard twice a day, and cutting down on caffiene and no carbs of a night sorted it out for me

You have cabs about a 90 mins before you train to give you energy, not before you got to sleep

Yups. I gotta do what i gotta do though ya know? There's no enough time in the day to accomplish everything, so i have to knock off sleep. I could sleep when i'm dead. I don't know how i'm doin it, but it's getting done. I usually get most of my rest on the weekends.

that's not healthy, your not doin yourself any favours or getting stronger in any way doin that, the least amount of hours you should be getting sleep is 8, esspecially when you train in boxing frequently

I know. Believe i know. It's only rough right now cus i gotta study. Come summer time, i'll get more rest. Bout 6-7 hours of sleep.

I feel strong though. Lots of energy. I catch cat naps throughout the day to balance it out. I usually sleep during my commute and on my breaks.

Yeah dude, shouldnt be eating carbs after about 8-ish o'clock, your body's winding down around this time, so if you eat carbs before bed, it tries to kick back into gear which upsets your sleeping, also because your either sat down or in bed later at night, the carbs tend to turn into fat quicker than normal, thus making it harder to lose weight/get rid of fat.
