  • My Boxing...

i need some advice....i am in pretty good shape! I run about 3 miles everyday and then do sprints (depending), i lift weights (low weight high rep), and i box constantly! I can do 8 4 min rounds on a heavybag going full out each round (prob 10-12 if i go more conservative.) That being said, i have a quick decent jab, and have all around good speed and power (always room for improvement!) BUT, i snack and eat A LOT but it doesnt seem to affect me..the only little bit of fat on me is on my lower stomach but i can take body shots and it doesnt affect my overall body.....what are your opinions? i wish to go decently far in boxing...will this little stomach fat hurt me? Thanks all!

of course it will hurt you...your trying to show off your 10 pack to the chicks and all you got is a 6 pack.......but really i think the waist comes up to the belly button on boxing shorts so it gets covered up and if anything i think extra fat gives you cushioning as long as its rock solid under. like punch a wall hurt your hand you still put stress on the wall but as long as it dosent break your still going to feel all the force right back into your hand. Put foam over the same wall or put on boxing gloves what happens less pain in your hand. the padding would be the fat the solid wall will be your abs and your hand is the person punching you. So because of the fat your abs are put under alot less stress but your less likely to hurt the opponets hand when they punch you.

This has not been confirmed but i have a theory that momentum travels better through fat so the energy coming from the ground has less resistance to get to your hand

all i can see as a problem is the extra fat effecting your foot speed and stamina and it seems your work extra hard to make up for it so i dont really see any problems actually
