Taking a step back is slow, just slip your upperbody back and return when it wiffs past you. The only reason that the guy is able to tag you is probably because your just standing straight up with your gloves on the side of your head like the new guys do. Want to know the easiest way to stop their uppercut, stick a stiff jab down their throats. A jabs not just for touching and probing...................Rockin'

If you are getting tagged by Upperz, try working on your countering more, like stepping back whenever you feel a upper coming and come back with your right or you can block it and counter too. I have had minimal nose bleeds whenever in sparring but I try to always protect that spot and my chin since it's the ones most ppl usually go to. I even tried sparring once with no Headgear and mouthpiece once( ****** idea when our coach wasnt there) and the guy was over 230lbs with me being over 170 I belive, he caught me very good with some excellent shots that I could feel the power from yet I covered pretty good and just managed to come out with my face a bit red from the punches absorbed.

the thing is i spar with bigger and taller guys.

I'm 5'11 200 lbs and im always facing guys 6'2 - 6'5 and they always use the uppercut on the inside for the advantage. even though my jab work good on these guys i have to use the inside if i want to back up these guys.

just have the surgery done to stem the blood vessels in your nose if your that concerned with nose bleeds . its a pretty common thing many boxers have done , this whole nose bone thing is a little much though .

Actually, just relax about it. From day one I was a bleeder from the nose. You touch it and I drop a pint or two on the canvas. I used a salt and water solution and would apply it with a cue tip on the cuts. It will burn abit.

Also, stop blowing your nose when you have wounds in it. It can tear it open again.

I was like 15 I had people telling me to get it cautorized(SPL?), Im glad that I did not. After a while you will build scar tissue that will kind of just keep it from busting open so easily. It takes some time and many bottles of bleech to keep you gym clothes descent but it will happen, that being that it wont bleed so much or possibly even not at all. My nose rarely bleeds now, unless I eat an incredibly solid shot.

So think about this while the doctor raises his blade and tells you that you wont feel a thing..................Rockin'
i know a guy who's had his nose bone taken out, the docs put a piece of rubber or somthing in there, now he has a nose that can't be broken. he'd had alot of amateur fights and then worked as a bouncer in da clubs
