  • Eating and training

    I figured if I train hard, I'm going to loose alot of weight.

    Thing is, I'm already pretty skinny as it is and I'm trying to put on weight, so I eat lots of food.

    Is there a way to balance it out, like training without loosing weight.

        What do you want to gain weight for? Are you going to be posing for Playboy magazine? Just get in boxing shape and let your body weigh whatever it wants. Carrying extra mass won't make you a better boxer.

          lol playboy isn't what I had in mind.

          But I'm really skinny as it is, which isn't attractive, and don't want to loose any more weight. Plus, I'm really small so it looks bad being skinny.

            Im the same as you, you'll end up eating more naturally without really trying since you'll be training a lot you'll get really hungry afterwards and eat shedloads (well I do anyway).

              you havent gained weight throughout your life because your metobolism is obviously higher then the average person. you have to eat a certain amount of calories per day maintain your weight, what that is i dont know; everyone is different so dont ask me. If you start training you will be burning calories, your body will be using the carbs you eat for energy and the protein you eat to repair itself. So in turn when you train, your using up all of your intake so you will eat alot more. Just try it out, train hard 4-5 times a week and then see how much more you can eat. Training also SPEEDS up your metobolism.

              Look at that japanese world champion eater. He is ripped as ****. He can eat like 70 hotdogs or some ****, he doesnt just sit around and try to stretch out his stomach (it can be stretched) like most of the competetive eaters do. As soon as he starts eating he is metobolizing the food.

              so start training and eat until you are full. Put some effort in and learn what type of foods you should be eating and you will start gaining muscle mass and in turn gain weight.

                I know what you mean i am tall but thin, all i do at the moment is 15mins of running 15mins of heavybag and 15mins of shadow boxing 5 times a week i used to do weights 2-3 times a week but haven't bothered to do it for the last few months and i have lost to much weight and i don't know why i look way to skinny now, i am starting to eat more but i don't see how i can get to skinny from just 15mins of running i am gonna start lifting weights again.

                  Eat a good amount of calories, if you consume more than you use you'll slowly gain weight. You don't want to set out to gain much weight, real boxing training will build the required muscles to the degree you need them for your weight category. I wanted to gain muscle mass when I started boxing, the coach told me boxing is not about beefing up, it's about training hard, from that your body will naturally develop in to its fighting category and that's it.

                    well if u think you are too skinny and how skinny is skinny?? do u have any muscle on your body at all?? cuz if u dont u may gain a lil bit or stay around the same while adding muscle
