Do you need to go to the doctor if you broke your nose in a match?

Hello guys I just want to ask in boxing matches even in sparring broken noses is common right? then I just want to ask if you broke your nose can you just let it heal by itself? and will your nose be deformed?

If u want to go to a doctor, u can but also we can let it.... even if is deformed u'll look mean....

First of all, broken noses really aren't that common in sparring and fights.

It's always a good idea to go to the doctor just to be safe. Sometimes it can be shifted off to the side and needs to be reset. That said, I had my nose dammaged in sparring, it was all swollen, gave me two black eyes and I didn't go to the doc. I didn't even miss a day of training (couldn't spar for like 3 weeks though). I just let my coach keep an eye on it and check it each day. Maybe it wasn't the smartest, I just figured he's probably seen more broken noses in his 45 years of coaching than my doctor has.

you should go to the doctor unless you can set it without going there. you dont want the nose to set at a weird position especially if its a bad break. it can interfere with breathing or be more susceptible to future breaks. even if you set it, it may look deformed because doctors can't set it perfect.

I wouldn't say it is common to get your nose broke, but not rare either... at the end of the day your gonna get hit there so there is always a chance of it breaking. Yeah, I would say see a doctor about it... even if they just say it will be okay it is better to be safe than sorry, they might have to crack it back into place... or they could just let it heal on its own, but at least you made sure.

well if u know its broken 100%, u shoulddddd go see a docter, but its not like they will fix it... its like a broken rib too.. it heals on its on, all a docter will give u is his advice. where u can find online . theres a website like called ask a docter.com or something u pay 15$ and a lisceneed docter iwll answer u til ur satisfied. saves ppl a lotta time if they just got minor things that just need ansnwers. like ur case for example. all a docter can provide u is advice on what to do to help it heal faster. goin all the way to the docter for that is kinda a waste of time in my opinion

i mean if you get tons of swelling under your eyes also and have headaches and its still bleeding or whatever the day after, then yeah id probably see a doctor

With a broken nose, you will have blockage [partial or even more so] of a septum, and unless you want it RE-BROKEN down the line by a surgeon [it hurts more than the original break, believe me], you want to seek immediate professional medical attention.

You may require a septoplasty. Understand that blockage of a septum will affect your breathing. Breathing usually is mandatory/vital for athletics. Just saying.
