Can't see why not, you gotta start sparring at some point. You will probably struggle at first and that but you will get better at it over time.

If you've never sparred before or aren't used to getting hit and don't get into fights...then yes, you will get your cage rattled; unless you've only got powder puffs at your gym.
Some new cats who just joined the gym a few months ago can't even go one round. They're gettin in shape, hittin the bag, yadda yadda...but sparring is a whole new can of worms.

hopefully you get a good sparring partner. getting into sparring is the make or break of the sport in my opinion. you have to break through your natural instincts. when you get hit your body goes into survival mode and you either turtle up to protect yourself and dont do anything, fight back, or run. you have to re-program yourself to access your training more so then the flight part of your fight or flight system. it helps if you are able to take it a little slower so you easy into it and you get your eyes accustomed to being punched in the head because your going to want to squint or close your eyes and or turn away. dont get put down if that happens to you. just keep at it and youll eventually train your eyes, body, and brain to use your training and then sparring will be tons of fun.

No it's not bad. Expect to suck something awful and to get punched a lot though. I'd expect that your trainer won't put you in there with someone who will attempt to know your block off, which is good. Just make a mental note of what you **** up on (probably everything) and try to work on it later. Good luck, have fun.
