Is there a good push-up workout

What would be a good push-up workout? I mean I know about the regular push-ups and push-ups with feet on a bench or chair but is there a routine that can build muscles?

I have just moved to a small island in the Ba***** and there is no gym or store to get weights. There is a population of only 72 people. And shipping exercise equipment is a bit expensive.

          That's a good site. There's also..

The 200 situps training program. Strengthen and sculpt your abs, back, core and obliques by training to do 200 consecutive situps in 6 weeks.

          Made by the same people.

When I was young it was standard practise for boxers to do push-ups on their fingers and knuckles. Now that we are in an era of weightlifting, that practise seems to have fallen by the wayside. I don't know if it is true or not but it seems to me that hand injuries are much more common these days than in bygone decades. We all believed that doing it on the fingers and knuckles strengthened the bones. At the local Karate club the kids do their push-ups the same way, so apparently there are at least some people who still believe it.

really? u strict boxers used to do finger tip push ups? nice, but, i hope u knew how to do them....meaning not on the fingertips, but on the actual last digits of the fingers. then, you progress from all ten fingers to lifting up the pinkies, then eventually all fingers until u are just on your pointer fingers or thumbs or both. i can still do those easily. they strengthen the ligaments of the hand itself so they likely do help protect your fist.

then, u advance further by adding a decline, like a stool for your feet to rest on. eventually, fingertip handstands are the long term goal.

some people use string and coil it tightly around the first finger digits when doing advanced fingertip handstand at first for extra support.

just thought u guys might find the whole curriculum of this training interesting. of course i am leaving a few things out.

Just doing that single exercise is ******, there are many more exercise that can help you.
