      Counter-punchers come in different styles. James Toney has one style, Joe Calzaghe has another. It would appear that you have lots of studying to do.

        Catch (with right hand) & return their jab with your right
        Catch (with left hand) & return their cross with a jab or left hook

        You can do the same thing with parrying but with the opposite hand, its a little more risky but you can pull it off quicker and theres more power. For the basics thats a good start. Good luck
