This is my bag, a 100-lb. Everlast bag.

Hey thanks! I went and weighted it up. It was a fraud, here is what I found out:

"The bag was fraud. It was sold as 100 lbs but it was missing some of the stuffing I think and it was only 33 kg or 72.7 lbs when I weighted it up."

That is one school of thought. But my coach taught us to always hit on the fly, and always be moving. It wears my opponents down, it demoralizes them, & sometimes it even makes them frustrated enough to make ****** mistakes.

I move around when I'm working the bag, I move around when I'm sparring, I move around when I'm shadowboxing. I use a wider stance than normal and my footwork is excellent. I rarely get knocked down.

that's very effective. my trainer always makes me work 1 round just jabbing while circling the bag and while my other glove's up. it has given me more pop and authority with the jab

Definitely. Hitting on the fly forces you to snap your punches rather than pushing them, which gets you back to your guard quicker and reduces your opponent's ability to counter. It also makes your counterpunching more effective -- once you're comfortable with hitting on the fly, you'll find that it's a small step from hitting on the fly to striking while slipping and weaving.

Actually, he wasn't there. The girl at the front gym had to strain to remember his name. I had to describe him (and I even did an impression -- THEN she remembered him.)

She said that he rarely trained there (and Chuckles said that he did, BTW; you can go back to early YouTubes and posts on this board and hear his BS about being king **** at the Hollywood Boxing Gym), and -- get this. . . .

. . . she said that THEY DON'T ALLOW CONTACT SPARRING AT THAT GYM.

I was blown away. "Are you serious?"

"That's against club rules. We do fitness boxing and pad work, but no sparring. Insurance."

I said, "I thought he wanted to be a pro boxer."

She kind of made a sad little face and said, "Well, yeah, but that's Charlie." She said it in a tone that made me think that sometimes Charlie also wanted to be a fire engine.

So basically I lugged my gloves down there for nothing.

Good. Keep it up. You fight how you train. I can tell immediately if my opponent trains by planting his feet in his stance and hitting a bag, or shadowboxing in front of a mirror without moving. In the ring, you are a TARGET. Move accordingly.

Does Versy have any good vids up? That guy can move.
