I just won my first match. But I watched my other gym buddies who started boxing at the same time as me but I took longer. They are already on their 4th fight. But I noticed they have lost all their matches since thier first fight. Their opponents looks very muscular and look much more experienced than they are.
My friends have started boxing from the basics for 10 months but have done 4 fights is that way too fast for them. I'm planning on only taking exhibitions or fighting people with less experience than me and get sculpted and in very good condition before I go on to fight people with over 3 fights

p.s their opponents had the same # of fights as my friends.

Some advice my trainer always gives me.

Don't worry so much about your amateur record. Worry about your pro record. The amateurs is learning your craft and getting experience. If you fight once, your scared to progress? And fight people with as many fights as you? Sounds like your scared of a challenge. Real fighters are not afraid of challenges. Why do you only want to fight people less experienced than you? You should want to fight better people to get better yourself. In all honesty, this is not a diss but I don't know how else to put it, you sound like a coward.

I;m not scared of a fight I've been in a full fight exhibition with someone who has 2 fights more than me and weighed more than me by 30lbs. I'm not scared of the challenge. I'll gladly take an exhibition with anyone. I just don't want to have a nasty looking record and end up getting discouraged and quit boxing. If I've learned anything from boxing it's that the people who have done it for longer are usually alot better than you at least for me since I've only done it 10 months

There is one thing i live by in boxing, a qoute i heard from someone

"Fighters nowadays are to concered about their record, their all lookin to pad their records with easy fights and become "the best" but i remember the day when you did'nt fight for your record, you fought the fighters that would make you a better fighter, The fighters that could easily knock you out, could easily outbox or overpower you"

Live by that and you will never have to worry about your record, a loss is only a gateway to becoming better as we learn from our losses

yes but for me it's a good record that will help me in the short term. Whenever I come home late night from training they'd be like stop wasting your time with boxing. After I won they didn't say anything. If I lost more than I won could you imagine what kind of ****** **** my parents would say to me. They're mad enough I go train alot instead of working and studying.
I need at least 10 wins before I can risk it and fight the best of the best.
boxing is my first sport I never did sports before it. Physically I'm behind alot of fighters. But experience wise is the only edge I have for now. So until I catch up to them physically I want to fight people with less or equal experience with me and if not I don't want to fight them.

I hope you do not find this rude, but to be swayed by what others think you must have no passion for the sport.

When i first began boxing everyone in my family was againts it, everyone that i wanted backing me up. I was alone with nothing but my will and passion to carry me. That was 6 months ago. Now Everyone in my family is cool with it, they support me, they try hard to help me. Only becuase i showed them the determination and love of the sport through my training. I train hard everyday to show them that this is what i love.

Simply fighting fighters that are less experianced than you will do nothing for you. Easy wins make you feel good sure, they make you feel like a million bucks. But what happens when one day someone matches you? when they have fought hard in everything to get to where they are. They have fought the fighters that wiped them across the floor yet they still fought on no matter the odds. You might be 10-0 and feel amazing, and he might be 5-5 but records dont matter. Its the fighters that you fight that matter!

you learn more by fighting people with more experince(better) than you, but this game is personal choice if you only want to fight thoes who are less experinced than yourself then you will not grow the way you should.

                    Experience !

I would fight oppenents with the same number of fights (experience). Their record wont matter but their experience will make a big difference.

Remember dont rush yourself but at the same time do not fight many less experienced fighters. Gradually grow as a fighter always learning.

I won my first Amatuer lastnight against a bloke who had 7 fights, the match makers lied about myu oppenents record over phone to my trainer and tryd to set me up to fail but I pulled through. Ill make sure my next fight is a guy with a maximum of 2 fights so its evenly matched.

Also remember their are alot of crooks and freuds in the boxing game.
