just wondering how im shaping up, im 18 and im 5'8" 130lbs

The mile time has come down considerably since i stopped smoking cigs. My first time at the track a month of so ago i couldnt even run a mile without stopping haha. But im working towards getting it to were it used to be; about 5:30 not only 2 years ago lol.
So i still havent joined my local boxing gym because i dont think im in good enough shape yet, is there anyone here who boxes in my weight class (or used to) who could give me some advise as far as where i stand, and how to improve?
I was wondering also, would it hurt my lungs if i smoked a bowl or two on the week ends?
