  • suggestions for BALANCE

I've been training for awhile, and one area that I'm having trouble with is my BALANCE. Does anyone know any good drills/ exercises on how to work on balance?

Any videos or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Stand on one leg and extend your other leg as far back as you can with a bend in it then swing it forward and tuck it up to your chest. And repeat. Its helps.

Heres some drills from Ross Enamaits old e-books "The Underground Guide To Warrior Fitness":

      1. Flamingo
-Stand on 1 leg with your arms by your sides. Alternate sides every 30 seconds.
Variations: tip your head to the side/front/back or turn it, do head circles, swinging your free leg to the front/sides/back, chest pass a ball back and forth with a partner, shadowbox (you can perform any of these with your eyes closed as well)

      2. Walk up stairs with your eyes closed

      3. Heel-Toe walking
-Walk across the room pretending your on a balance beam (can also do it with your eyes closed)

      4. Stand on a basketball
      -try it with closed eyes

      5. One leg pickup
-Pick things up at different positions in relation to your body

      6. Squats with your toes on a 2x4
-dont let your heels touch down

      7. stand on 1 leg or on a 2x4 (heels staying off the ground) and goof around with a medicine ball
