  • I feel like ****? I need your opinion

I feel like the forgotten amateur all the time at my gym.
When I first joined I wasn't taught the basic I was ignored and just watched what others did. For 2 months till a new trainer showed me the basics.
The new trainer did some padwork with me for a while. During my first fight I had an asthma attack I didn't tell them I had asthma though. After I told them I had it they pretty much forgot about me. All the amatures are trained by the coach padwork and all except me they do it twice a week for each amature.
Me I've been there for 5 months and I haven't gotten any training or advice from the coach in a good 2 months.
During sparring they put me against AM's and they never give me advice and tell the other AM's advice even though I'm not as good as them.
After I saw AM's with less experience than me getting more attention than me. That's when I realised I've been forgotten.
Hell the coach I've seen for 5 months doesn't even say hi to me.
I know I can do boxing with asthma cuz I seen shannon briggs do it. Even though he tries to knockem out as fast as possible. I know I'm a bit behind the others but I train alot 15-20 hours a week.

anyway to my main point the gym I go to is 3 minutes from my house.
I want to switch gyms I saw a very nice gym but it is an hour away.
the nice gym has really good fighters better than ours.

the gym I go to is in the ****** I live in the ******.
I wanna go to this gym here it's the same price but farther.
    http://www.underdoggym.com/
plus it's named underdog gym and I feel like an underdog too.

go to videos and pick either 3 ,5 or 6 the fighters from there look alot better than my gym.

so should I stay or switch?

man that's terrible for them to treat you like that, but what they're doing is giving you the cold shoulder in hopes that you'll leave because they don't want to risk getting sued due to your asthma. it's ignorant but it's the truth. so i'd say either go your current trainer with your concerns and if he starts treating you equally, stay. if he blows you off, says he won't train you or says he will and doesn't, go to the new place. i have poor vision and from day one i've let my trainer know and had a real open attitude towards it. if you go to the new gym i recommend you do the same. good luck man

well now you know what you must do. Train as hard as you can, give it your all and become the best you can be and then match up againts your old gyms members and destroy them, ultimatly showing your old coach how much potential you had and what a great fighter he lost.

Have you done anything about it with your coach. Spoke to him, or anything?

I'm with the others in thinking he sounds a proper prick. I do see this happen sometimes with timid people though. A lot goes on in a gym and sometimes if a person isn't speaking up, or having, initiating conversations with trainers/coaches...they get forgotten about. Sometimes the sqeaky wheel gets the grease.

If he's truly ignoring you, then yea..get the hell out of there to any place better. And feel free to tell him to go **** himself on the way out if the situation seems to require it. Good luck.

I have that problem too if I get a cold it takes me a really long time to recover I can''t breathe through my nose very well or at all.

my plan is to train at another gym and come back and woop the AM"s the coach has trained almost like a dream of mine.
Although the AM's at my gym are all my friends.
All I need is advice and padwork from a coach. With asthma I;m going to need to be smarter with fighting. the fighters from the other gym look really good though llike olympic good almost
