  • getting fitter stronger FASTER

    hey guys iv had a 3weeks brake from boxing because of christmas new years etc so now im back been 3 times this week but i wondering how can i get

    fitter

    stronger

    faster

    i was going to buy some weights heavy weight but im only 14 and 5 foot 8 and predicted to be 6 foor 3 around thier tall so i duno if weights wud stunt growth etc i can run i hjav a 2mile circuit back on my house which is quite up hill etc tips guys:wank:

    just train hard at the gym, eat well and do some training at home, mainly sprints (do 10x100m sprints or 4x400m sprints) see if you can fit in those sprint workouts twice a week along with your boxing and occasionally throw in a 4 mile run once every week or two for good overall stamina

      weights wont stunt your growth i mean as long as you have gone through puberty already... ive started circuit training and its supposed to make you alot stronger so id look into that, and faster is a matter of cardio and stuff...

      and im gonna sound liek a broken record but in all honesty eating right will make a hundred times fitter.. look into it

                  www.rosstraining.com check out the articles section for a few free workouts, his workouts will really get you in shape. The forum is a great place to get tips on conditioning or anything stamina or strength oriented.

                  Theres also jogging, swimming, rowing, running and sprints as well as almost any sport. You can do them a few different ways.

                  1. Intervals(anaerobic): fast, hard, nearly all out effort for the designated distance (eg 400 meters)
                  2. LSD (long slow distance, aerobic): a jog, go for however many miles, its suggested to go for at least thirty minutes.
                  3. Enhanced Intervals: do a standard interval but incorporate some sort of calisthenic. (eg 400m run then 30 pushups). A run works mostly your lower body but then you do pushups and youve essentially worked the whole body.
                  4. Fartlek runs: A fartlek run is like a long jog but you'll do random things within it such as sprinting to some far away object or doing pushup, running sideways, backwards, pullups, etc etc.

                  (maximum heart rate is 220 minus your age)
                  if you work above 85% of your maximum heart rate your working anaerobically which increases your VO2 max (look it up) aka stroke volume.

                  if you work at a rate of less than 85% your maximum heart rate your working aerobically which does little for your VO2 max but it helps to strengthen the heart and lungs as well as building a tolerance to doing something for an extended period of time. It'll also help you recover between rounds and form new capilaries in the working muscles so they can tolerate the work load better and hence giving you better endurance/stamina.

                  Is that answer to your satisfaction?

                  EDIT: just read you have a hill by your house, do your sprints up it and get creative with the enhanced intervals

                    Call up Oscar de la hoyas Conditioning coach ask him for adivice and do the complete oposite.
