My next fight is on saturday, can't wait
I'm hoping to get 5 fights before June, I haven't fought since April because my fights just keep getting called off for one reason or another. I am looking to make a new start for 2009, and good luck to everyone

im considering making a streetfighting comeback

im at 264 (lost 20 lbs in the last week or so) right now, id want to be around 235 if i came back seriously, although a tuneup might be in order tomorow at my eldest daughters 10th birthday party (her friends dad is an ass)

my wife says she will leave me if i "continue this macho crap and go to jail again" and the kids dont want it wither, they are still traumatised by an incident at the butchers 2 years ago where a man cut in the line, so i sent him spinning across the room with a push, he came back swinging with punches and we went at it, right in front of my kids ( 2,6,8 at the time) and all the other customers...we fell to the floor and were tussling when it got broken up..then as we left he came after me again as we got into our car, so i slammed his fingers into the door before driving off

          i will comeback though

it was a close fight, with my opponent basically securing the win in the last 15 seconds with a clean combo. i busted his face up nicely though. s'all good. i'll be back... here's the vid:

                    not bad.

yeah pretty close fight, i can see how he just edged it though.

                    some things i noticed:

your lead hand was way too low, and a lot of the time you were lunging in with no jab and your target area wide open, a more experienced fighter would have really had a field day with that, bring your arms up in tighter and hands higher next time, and you seem tall for the weight, so keep popping that long jab and cross from a high guard

several times you had him backed onto the ropes or in the corner and you threw a few shots before backing away and letting him out of trouble. never do that. when you have him in there, throw a combo, move just of range (like slide your feet only a half step back) and dart back in again with a combo and keep going in and out driving those combos to the head and body in, and more likely than not you will put an 8 count on him if you get a few solid shots through, then after the count or when hes hurt just pummel him relentlessly until the ref steps in

you should have parried his shots more and countered over the top, being taller you should have parried his shots more and came over the top, you would have picked up some easy points

also keep that lead hand out, constantly jabbing and probing, looking for openings then bam drive in a powerful cross or hook, then move out of range and dart back on him with more punches

but overall you did pretty good man, that other guy wasnt bad and you made it extremely close, you have pretty good ability and should win your next fight if you just make those adjustments...trust me hands up and those basic things i mentioned get you a long way in your first few fights as an amateur, i could see you kinda trying to roll off a few of his shots with your lead shoulder, keeping your lead hand down etc......thats better left for when you get more experience, often when you try and use it as a novice it goes against you or you cant really use it effectively

but good work anyway and best of luck in your next fight
