What you wish you knew starting out?

If you could go back in time and tell your younger self some tips, tactics, strategy, drills, etc. about boxing, what would you say?

NOTE: you are not allowed to give your younger self tips about women.

don't try to knock people out cuz it's not as easy as it is on t.v and all it does is make you tired and run out of energy and get hasty and get hurt

well, i am abit of a different case as i practice a martial art which also uses some boxing training methods(my teacher is trained in boxing btw.)

me, i would have skipped karate and kickboxing when i was younger and gone straight onto chinese boxing.

that is about it. i don't really have regrets or things i would change in my training.

just wish i didn't play basketball that day i injured my knee - something that i will always have to live with. and that pisses me off as i cannot compete full contact. at least i can train people i guess.

anyways, this is an interesting topic. i look forward to hearing from some of you other fighters or people trained in fighting arts.
