    damn your tall....lol.
I would tell your trainer/coach and let them work w/ you on it. My advice would just be to practice and get use to it. It took me a while to get the right hook down.

i can't simultaneously step right and jab either. i can jab and move to the left all day though. to counter this i just throw a jab, move throw another one.

I'm a southpaw, and i can only move right and jab at the same time. If i want to move left and jab i basically have to step left->stop->jab.

I have the exact same problem. I figure it has to do with footwork and how i place my weight but i´m not sure really. It bothers me a lot.

its annoying cuz moving to the left all the time is so predictable

In orthodox, I spring off the left foot while jabbing at the same time (just like I would spring of the right foot if I was moving forward or left). My bodyweight falls on the right side as the punch lands, and when I throw the jab I actually curl my shoulder over to the right, which creates more power and also protects the chin from counter hooks. Just practice I guess.

Ok, first you will have to learn how to jab while going back(granted you are a back footed fighter). Once you got the body mechanics down for that it will be easier.
The trick to it though is that you throw the punch when you already stepped to the right and almost completely transferred the weight from left foot to the right.
But you really have to learn how to throw punches and especially the jab while going back.
You will also have less problems with balance(as I understand that this is more of a balance issue then anything else) if you are fleetfooted.

Ok, when you jab back, you first move back with your right foot then when you are at the end of the movement you throw a jab, right?
