When one of my contacts falls out and I continue sparring I lose depthperception, focus and get ill.
There are currently 2 eye operations which go til -8 I think. They both are 100% safe, even if you want to continue boxing. (one of them is called epiLASIK) If you want to undergo them your vision has to be stable (so it can't be getting worse), which basically means you can't do it while you're still growing.
I'm going to get one of those operations in a year probably, because living with -6.5 while boxing/swimming isn't easy
EDIT: for you it's probably still possible fighting, even without contacts. Because I remember being -3 and compared to what I am now that was like eagle perceptionBut another problem for you is that one of your eyes is -0.5 worse than the other, which makes your depth perception a bit worse.
This is a great idea for you. I had LASIK a few years ago, and I never need to wear glasses now - after the procedure, my eyes are better than 20/20. If you can't pass the physical, this would be a good thing for you, whether you want to fight or not.

I know someone who had laser eye surgery (automatic fail in medical) and never mentioned it. if you do not boast about it, the authorities will be none the wiser because you can usually get this surgery done privately without it going onto your GP's medical records.
I also know another guy who is as blind as a bat and trained (not spar!) with glasses on. He failed his medical and then got a report from his optician saying he can box. The decisiobn was overturned and his medical was passed because a specialist said he was OKto box. If a specialist also tells you to **** off, then you can coach!
