  • fighting today...

got a fight today, the kid is a year or so younger than me with no fights but he is 5kg (11 lbs) heavier

my coach wasnt too worried but the matchmaker wasnt thrilled but let it go ahead

    i weigh 45.7 kg,(100 lbs) he weighed at 50.5 kg (111 lbs)

ive had 3 fights right, and im older so i should handle him i reckon even with the weight difference

does anyone think thats a bad matchup? just wondering what you think, im fighting him anyway

11lb seems a bit much, especially if he is taller than you. If he is shorter than you, it shouldn't be a problem.

I read somewhere recently that in your age range there isn't allowed to be that much weight difference, in Australia anyway. Can't remember where so I don't really know what I'm talking about. Anyways, let us know!!!!

You cant really know, some trainers take pride in getting their boxers well prepared for their first fight with lots of training and sparring rather than throwing someone in the ring rough around the edges. I would only take the fight if you cant find anyone your weight. It will go on your record and the weight difference is significant for your division. But whateer the outcome you will gain more experience

If hes a short boxer, he'll guranteed try to rough you up in the inside, going for the body often. Play him at his own game, but don't underestimate hi cause of his age/size.
