ive been looking around and many gyms offer differnt things. some gyms i found are pure boxing gyms. others are fitness gyms with boxing classes, some have one on one sessions.

for someone who has ZERO experience and wants to learn boxing fully. what do you reccomend. obviously im sure most will say go to a boxing gym. im also not sure what to look for in this case.

should i be looking for a boxing gym that has classes? one on one sessions? how does it work?

Go to a boxing gym, but be careful because some of them are fitness gyms in disguise. Talk to the trainers there, ask them about their own experience in the ring, the styles they teach and the success of the students they have trained. What you are looking for a is a trainer who you respect and want to learn from. Classes are great and after you've gone to them for a month or so you might want to get some private lessons to tune up your skills or learn advanced techniques.

Call the local officer from the boxing federation. they alwasy give good tips. Then go and see the gyms with best rep and stick to the one that is convenient for you! I alwasy think when you start out, the most important thing is to learn how to box. if they work more on fitness, go to someone who will teach you how to box.
