  • 142 to 150...how do i do it?

    im about 5'7, 142.4 lbs.
i just started hittin the gym back up, i was never much of gym fanatic.
but iv decided, i need to get a little fatter and stronger at the same time.

i dont use ANYTHING, no enhancement drugs or nothing like that.
so im bascially lookin for a good diet.

what do you guys think i could do? iv been trying for probably the last...6 months to go up to 150, but i just cant! my metabolism i guess is just too fast.

but any ideas on a good diet?

take in more carbs, and fats. on the fats look for monosaturated fat. as for protein, you should take in no MORE than 116 grams at 142 pounds. and be sure to keep your reps in a hypertrophy lift range of 7-12

Why no more than 116 grams? Curious.

you can determine your bodies maximum amount of usable protein with a ratio of 1.8g of protein per kg of bodyweight. anything more than that number is a waste and the excess nitrogen can put undue strain on your liver.

I thought it was AT LEAST 1g of protein per lb of bodyweight. Can go up to 2g but that's pushing it.

                  peewee thanks homie.

i had a few questions tho.

how many meals would you recommend me to have a day?
what it matter the time i took my meals?
what kind of foods would you use as in example to give me?

basically what would my schedule be lookin like?

my bad about all those questions, im just so ignorant about weights and carbs and proteins and all that kind of ****.

Yeah, if it's for boxing you try to get as lean as possible. Maybe the guy is better off looking in a bodybuilding forum.

Aslo, I skimmed past something about limiting protein intake. There is no need to do such a thing because even if your body can only absorb so much, the excess will do you no harm and will help you feel full. Trust me, nobody ever died from having a bit too much protein!!
