keep your chindown and remember your not trying to kill your opponent. One time when i sparred i was sparring w/ this guy who never sparred before and was only boxing for 2 weeks and i guess he didn't know that sparring is like practice and he went all at me, like we were in a real bout.

Remember you're there to learn, not knock each others head off. Try and help him, if he sucks against pressure fighters, pressure him etc. I learnt so much in 4 sparring sessions this week, its unreal. My trainer was sparring me, and everything he did with me helped, he could still whoop my ass if he wanted to though, which is funny. At the same time, don't be to soft, hit him hard but not to hard, you need to test each others chin and know whats coming.

you don't want him to be able to walk through your punches but you want him to be able to walk away after you land them. good rule of thumb.

Breathe with each punch. Every punch should not be a knock out. My first few times sparring I went out there fighting for my life. I didnt last two rounds I expended so much energy fighting like my life depended on it. Definitely chin down and hands up, protect yourself at all times.
