  • timing training to 2mins

i was thinking it always good to try and put your trianing to the rounds in which you fight? so like fight 2 min round you train 2 min rounds.

so i was thinking maybe to start doing this more often like putting skipping to 2min rounds 1 min break, but also what about calisthenics with 2 mins intervals aswell?

    thanks

if u fight for 2mins and train for 2mins youll get used to 2mins. but if you train for 3mins then when you fight for 2mins youll be better off

      I agree 100%

Do everything to 3 min rounds that way 2 min is easy.
The guy's in our gym leading up to a contest will spar 3 x 3 min rounds

no if you train 3 mins you will become a slower paced fighter and that will do you no favours in the ams

We do two minute rounds so you get the same amount of time and can go at the same pace as you will be going in a fight (all but one of the fighters in our gym are amateurs - the pro does three minute rounds).

To help build stamina up we only use thirty seconds rest between rounds.

every now and then the am's at our gym will spar two minutes against each other, but for the most part, we just get thrown in with the pro's for three minutes.

you won't fight at a slower pace if you start doing 3 minute rounds unless you already fight at a slow pace..getting used to 3 minutes going at the pace YOU like to fight at..makes 2 minutes a joke, i fight at a fast pace and after training for 3 minutes with 30 second rests..2 minutes with a full minute rest feels like heaven haha..trainings the hard part..fightings the easiest
