    Jaw problem

    Hi,

Ive been boxing for around 3 months now, and boxed before for 4 months before a few years break. My trainer asked me today if I want to get into fighting. But whenever Ive done full sparring before either at this new gym or my old one the left side of my jaw where it joins on to my head seems to feel lose really easy, even if only lightly slapped by a right hand. I believe this to be a problem from where someone attacked me with a baseball bat about 5 years ago and smacked the right side of my head with it. Its diffcult to explain but where the jaw joint is, it feels like if it gets hit hard enough it will come straight off, or at least feels weak not joined to the part of my skull fully. I think its something to with the ligaments / whatever allows your jaw to move. I saw my doctor when it happened and the hospital but they say they cannot do anything about head injuries until they start to cause a problem, like with your movement and said see my dentist. She gave me some exercises to do but I dont think she really understood it. Also, I seem to get huge amounts of ear wax in this left ear compared to the other one.
So my question is does anyone know of a solution to this problem? and most importantly do you think I should not box? I mean I dont want to box and go down like a fairy cos my jaw gets popped again. I hope someone can shed some light on this for me.

thats something you should probably take up with a doctor. but to me fighting with out head gear and smaller gloves with cast like handwraps would not be a good idea.

Does it feel like this when you close it shut?

Anyways you have to see a doctor man. If it feels like its going to come straight off i wouldn't box until i see a doctor. You should demand an Xray or something.

Get to a doctor and rethink about your boxing career.

No it doesnt feel like that when I close it shut. But I went to the doctor and the hospital before and they just shrug and say we cant do anything about head injuries until they cause a problem. Cos when I tell them it is like a 5 year old injury they jsut arent intrested at all.
I will go again and demand an xray. Probably have to wait for ages. thanks for suggestions.
