  • Are weights bad for you

Guys I push weights and do loads of jogging.Problem is I like 84kg weight, thats my optimum but I'm a stone over.Losing that stone is the hardest thing even though I do a 5 mile jog every other day.

I have tried a few diets but seems like they dont help me as such.Do you think the weights are bad for me because I keep gaining muscle.

It takes MONTHS to gain a few lbs of muscle so it isn't that. Try running 3 miles every day instead of 5 miles every other day. or maybe instead of jogging start doing sprints. Sprint for a minute then jog for 3minutes. Do this 10 times. If you shock your body you should start losing weight again. Give yourself Sundays off. Stop eating carbs and start taking in plenty of protein. Eat in the morning to kick start your metabolism and eat less at night. You don't need a diet, just eat right and exercise.

I've been lifting weights for a long time now.My muscles have a memory if I go back to the gym I gain weight fast. That protein diet only makes me bigger, within a week my biceps wont be fitting in my shirt.

The jogging ,I actually sprint a lot,the reason I alternate is because i try to fit in the gym on other days.

Yes they are! They will make you slow too, like robocop and will make you hungry and fat. weights will make it hard for a boxer to make weight. it's quite simple really!

the truth hurts. It hurt Ali's victims too as he did no weights and was very fast. heavy weights will make you slow: FACT! Light weights are an easier alternative to calisthenics. Weights are for bums who like shortcuts. Don't be bitter that i can do pull ups, dips, squat thrusts and press ups instead. Like a real man!

Calisthenics will make you more explosive. every single one of them exercises makes you more explosive than when doing the equivalent in weight training. you're moving your own doby wieght through space which makes more fucntional strenght.

even if you wanted to add mass, it is better to get a dipping belt than a ****ty bench! So even if you want to do weights, calisthenics is the best. For non HW boxers, there is no need for a dipping belt until you retire.

I need to say, every single post of yours is utter ******. Refrain from posting on topics you don't know about, which basically means don't post at all.

There is a huge difference between bodybuilding and lifting weight to gain strenght and explosiveness.

@ least Alexis is explaining what he thinks rather than some posters who just criticise him.It would help if people explained why they think weights are good or bad, exactly what weights do to you.
