while running sometime i usually lock up and get a cramp on my lower right side after a mile or so. what does this come from and how can i prevent it? it sometimes happens when i rope too

a. you can be out of shape
b. u ate or drank too much too soon before your workout..
i dont know how long youve been training but i rarely get cramps anymore unless i drank too much water or somtin

Get some potassium into your system. Bananas are a good source of this.
It might be dehydration as well. Drink a lot throughout the day to avoid this.
It could also be an imbalance between water and salt in your system, meaning you have less salt than you need. In this case salt tablets might do the trick.
I've had huge problems with leg cramps that ultimately caused me to have to quit playing football. Hopefully yours isn't as severe as mine are, and you can avoid them by doing some of the following things I listed above. Best of luck as I know they're a real *****.

i used to be really overweight younger, and i remember running on the track at school and i used to get these. most likely its because you might be out of shape. breathing correctly might also help.
