    How Long Before 1st Fight?

What's the average time before people usually have their first amateur fight, dont give me some "WELL SOMEONE I KNOW HAD IT IN 3 HOURS OF STARTING" .. whats the NORMAL length of time before someone has their first bout from taking up boxing?

I fought after about 3 months. I started sparring after about 1 month, then about a month later my trainer asked me if i wanted to fight and i said hell yea! and we got a fight in the next show. Ive been kickin ass and takin names ever since lol

but from what ive seen around my gym, for the kids that actually stick around this long (which is rare) probably about 5-6 months.

I've had two trainers, both good. One will put you in the ring after two months with two days a week training, and the one I'm with now says six days a week for between 12-24 months.

But the local fighters around me suck ****. I'm embarrassed to watch them sometimes. They might be fit and throw lots of punches but so do the guys outside my local pub after midnight.

I don't think it really matters. It just depends on what you want to get out of it. I wanna be a good fighter, not just have numbers to my name. Also, where I'm from the people I'll personally have to fight will be experienced on an international level so I need to match that with skill.

I ve had two trainers and I waited almost a full year before I had my first official fight. Although I will say depending on the talent and skill level hell you could do it in 6 months or less. All up to the boxer I think.
